Faqs

IGNOU Regional Centres act as a bridge between the University and state-level institutions.

RC Shimla offers bachelor's, master’s, diploma, PG diploma, and certificate courses in different specializations.

Yes, you can change your regional centre after admission, but you must provide a valid reason.

Yes, you can collect your study materials from your regional centre if needed; otherwise, the university will deliver them to your registered address via speed post.

The study centres are the administrative offices of IGNOU wich controls study centres, and provide service to the students in different regions of the country.

The main function of the IGNOU is to provide quality education in distance mode and affordable cost.

There is nothing like the best time students can visit anytime within the working hours of the Regional Centre.

IGNOU does not charge extra money for books; it is already included in the program fees. If any student wants only an electronic form of study material, they will get 15% extra discount on program fees.

After the admission conformation students must do:

  • Check Status and Profile: After admission confirmation, students must check their admission status on ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Check your enrollment no, regional centre (e.g., Shimla), and allotted study centre.
  • Access Study Materials: The first thing students should do after admission is download the digital copies of their study material through E-Gyankosh.
  • Download ID Card: Download the ID Card from the Samarth Admission Portal using your enrolment number given at the time of admission.
  • Prepare Assignments: Students should start preparing for their Assignments as soon as possible because IGNOU has strict restrictions regarding their assignments.

The benefits of using regional centres are:

  • Students can get academic counselling from experts for course selection, syllabus clarification, exam prep, and career guidance.
  • Regional Centres solve students' queries and give them a solution as soon as possible.
  • Convenient material distribution, including in-person collection of study materials if postal delivery fails.

One of the best advantages of IGNOU is that its UGC-DEB approves programs with the flexibility of distance learning.

The full address of IGNOU RC Shimla is Block No. 9, SDA Complex,
Kasumpti, Shimla – 171009, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Yes, we can change our regional centre after admission, but only when we have a valid reason for that.
