Online Admission Process – Step by Step

The admission process of the IGNOU Regional Centre Bangalore is online through the Samarth portal of the IGNOU.

Step 1 – New Registration-  Register as a new student at the university’s admission portal.

Step 2 – Login & Fill Application Form - Log in to the admission portal using your login credentials. Fill the admission form with valid details.

Step 3 – Upload Documents- Scan and upload a photo, signature, educational certificates, category proof (SC/ST/OBC), and DEB ID; ensure formats match guidelines (e.g., JPG, <100KB).

Step 4 – Pay Fees- The last and most important part of the admission process is fee payment. The university allows multiple payment options, including Netbanking, UPI, Bank Transfer, and Debit/Credit Card.

Step 5 – Submit & Save Confirmation- Review the form, submit, and download the provisional receipt and confirmation.

Re-Registration at Bangalore Regional Centre 2026

At RC Bangalore, re-registration is an important part; basically, it is the process of enrolling in the next year or semester of an ongoing program. Without re-registration, students are not allowed to continue their ongoing program. Re-registration is also important for students to avail of the services provided by IGNOU, such as study materials, assignments, and Term-End Examinations (TEE).

What is Re-Registration?

Re-registration is only for existing students. Students who are already pursuing any program at IGNOU and have completed their ongoing semester or year should have to re-regeister themself to upcoming year or semester. Without re-registration, they are not allowed to continue for the next semester or year.

Students eligible for re-registration are those who are already pursuing their degree at IGNOU. Students who have failed or did not appear for their last semester examination are also allowed to re-register in most cases.

The entire process takes place online on the official re-registration portal of IGNOU, which can be accessed at online.ignou.ac.in. The steps for re-registration are as follows:

• Open the official website of IGNOU, ignou.ac.in, and proceed to "Register Online" and then "Re-Registration."
• Click on "Proceed for Re-Registration"
• Enter the Enrollment Number, password, and captcha to log in
• Select the elective or optional courses for the upcoming academic session
• Confirm the selection of the courses
• Proceed to pay the fee online using UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Cards

How to Submit Assignments at RC Bangalore

Assignments for students of RC Bangalore can be submitted in the following two ways:

Online Submission: In some cases, assignments can also be submitted online. Check the specific details regarding this on the university website or by emailing the coordinator of the study Centre.

Offline Submission

• Visit the study Centre allocated to you (not the RC office)
• Bring the handwritten assignments with you (Typed assignments will not be accepted)
• Submit the assignments neatly bound with the cover page containing the student's name, enrollment number, program code, and course code
