Indira Gandhi National Open University offers an MBA in Human Resources Management through its ODL vertical. The course is designed and developed according to the skills required in Business and Management. The objective of the course is to define and understand the concept of business management.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University is UGC-DEB approved. The MBA courses it provides are recognized by AICTE, which ensures the quality of technical skills, infrastructure, and faculty of the course. The UGC-DEB-approved degree is accepted by recruiters across the world.

This university only offers an MBA in Human Resource Management through its ODL vertical. If anyone wants to pursue an MBA in HR management online, they have to apply to an online private university. This course covers diverse areas of study in business and management, which are relevant to the present-day needs. It is uniquely designed for both fresh graduates and working personnel.

The fee for the MBA in Human Resource Management at online private universities is approximately between INR 1 and 2.5 lakhs for the full course. In this cost, private universities provide much better facilities such as LMS, video lectures, e-books, etc.

Note: Indira Gandhi National Open University does not offer an MBA in HR management online; the total fee for the full program in ODL mode is INR 66,000/-.

The eligibility criteria to apply for an MBA in Human Resource Management online course are as follows:

• A minimum 40% marks in graduation
• No CAT/GMAT/GRE scores are required

At Indira Gandhi National Open University, the MBA in Human Resource Management is available only in ODL mode, and you need a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks.

IGNOU Online MBA in HRM Duration

The duration of the course is two years; however, in online mode, students are granted an additional two years to complete the program. An Indira Gandhi National Open University course is available in the same duration, but only in distance mode.

IGNOU follows a simple admission process for its online MBA programs. The university follows two admission cycles: January & June for the MBA-OL program along with its distance courses. Applicants looking to pursue the respective management course need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Registration:

• Register using basic details, Aadhar mobile number, and email
• Create/link APAAR & ABC ID
• Verify email and mobile number
• Create a user ID for further processing.

Step 2: Admission Form:

• Log in using your user ID
• Choose your preferred program
• Fill in personal, academic, and other required details

Step 3: Upload Documents:

You need to upload the following documents:

• Identity proof: Aadhar, PAN
• Academic: 10th, 12th, and bachelor marksheet
• Scanned photos & signature
• Domicile, Caste, Income, & PwD for reserved categories

Step 4: Payment:

• Pay your annual program fee
• You can choose Netbanking, UPI, Credit/Debit Card, and Bank Transfer for fee payments.

Step 5: Download ID Card:

Upon admission confirmation, you can download your student ID card using your login credentials in the Samarth portal.

Note: Students need to re-register annually to continue their respective courses.

The syllabus of the course covers both theoretical and practical requirements of the learners, which makes them industry-ready. In the first year of the course, students learn about the fundamentals of Human Resource Management, such as Organizational Behavior, Managerial Economics, Business Communication, and Research Methods. In the second year, the curriculum covers the advanced areas such as Performance Management, Industrial Relations, Labor Laws, Compensation, Strategic HRM, and a capstone project.

IGNOU COE follows the patterns of continuous assessment evolution, term-end examinations, and project evaluation to measure the learning capabilities of MBA-OL students. The patterns are as follows:

• Assessment: Continuous evolution through quizzes, case studies, and subjective questions with a weightage of 30%. Students need to submit their subject-wise assessments to the online centers or the program coordinator of their respective study center.
• Term-end Examination (TEE): The TEE exams for the online MBA program are conducted twice in June and December of every year, depending on the academic cycle. With a 70% weihtage, it consists of MCs and subjective questions.
  Students need to appear in the proctored CBT exams at their designated exam centers for TEE exams. Additionally, they can also choose subjects to appear in TEE exam cycles as per their convenience.
