Although Indira Gandhi National Open University is a good university, it doesn’t offer an MBA in financial management in online mode; the only option left is to choose a private university. In private universities MBA in financial management program is recognized by AICTE, which shows the university’s Quality of education.

In the MBA in financial management, students learn core concepts of financial management, including Financial Planning & Analysis, Investment Decisions, and Risk Management. Both fresh graduates and working professionals can easily pursue this program. Online Universities provide a well-structured curriculum that is specially designed for online students.

If you prefer this open university for an MBA in Finance, you will have to choose its distance learning mode. However, if you prefer the online mode of the program, you can opt for any private university. Private universities provide AI-based LMS and industry-relevant curriculum with the convenience of online learning at almost the same cost.

As IGNOU doesn’t provide an online MBA in FM, you have to go to a private online university. The fee for this online MBA program is approximately INR 1 to 2 lakhs for the full course. At this cost, private universities provide more facilities in comparison to the Indira Gandhi National Open University. Also, they provide some scholarships to the financially weak students.

NOTE: If you want to pursue this program at this university, you have to pursue it in distance mode, and the fee for the distance mode is approximately INR 70,000/- for the full course.

The eligibility criteria to apply for an MBA in financial management online course are as follows:

• Must have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university
• A minimum 45% marks in graduation
• No CAT/GMAT/GRE scores are required

At the Indira Gandhi National Open University, the MBA in FM is available only in ODL mode, and you need a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks.

IGNOU Online MBA in Financial Management Duration

The Online MBA program in Finance lasts 2 years. If candidates cannot complete the course within this duration, they receive an additional 2 years to finish their degree.

Indira Gandhi National Open University offers the same duration but in a distance learning mode.

IGNOU follows a simple admission process for its online MBA programs. The university follows two admission cycles: January & June for the MBA-OL program along with its distance courses. Applicants looking to pursue the respective management course need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Registration:

• Register using basic details, Aadhar mobile number, and email
• Create/link APAAR & ABC ID
• Verify email and mobile number
• Create a user ID for further processing.

Step 2: Admission Form:

• Log in using your user ID
• Choose your preferred program
• Fill in personal, academic, and other required details

Step 3: Upload Documents:

You need to upload the following documents:

• Identity proof: Aadhar, PAN
• Academic: 10th, 12th, and bachelor marksheet
• Scanned photos & signature
• Domicile, Caste, Income, & PwD for reserved categories

Step 4: Payment:

• Pay your annual program fee
• You can choose Netbanking, UPI, Credit/Debit Card, and Bank Transfer for fee payments.

Step 5: Download ID Card:

Upon admission confirmation, you can download your student ID card using your login credentials in the Samarth portal.

Note: Students need to re-register annually to continue their respective courses.

The syllabus of the MBA in Financial Management comes with a semester-wise curriculum, and it has 4 semesters. In this course, learners learns about core principles of finance with in-depth knowledge of business management. The syllabus of the course is designed by experienced faculty members of the university.

IGNOU COE follows the patterns of continuous assessment evolution, term-end examinations, and project evaluation to measure the learning capabilities of MBA-OL students. The patterns are as follows:

• Term-end Examination (TEE): The TEE exams for the online MBA program are conducted twice in June and December of every year, depending on the academic cycle. With a 70% weihtage, it consists of MCs and subjective questions.
  Students need to appear in the proctored CBT exams at their designated exam centers for TEE exams. Additionally, they can also choose subjects to appear in TEE exam cycles as per their convenience.
