The Master of Business Administration is a professional postgraduate degree offered by IGNOU ODL vertical. UGC-DEB has accredited this program for providing value equivalent to the on-campus degrees. The course is delivered in a hybrid mode, combining online classes with term-end examinations at physical centres.

Students who are looking to enroll in the IGNOU MBA in distance mode must pass these eligibility criteria:

Indian Applicants:

• A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years duration from a recognized university.
• A minimum of 50% marks in the last semester; 45% for reserved categories.
• Students from any stream can enroll in the IGNOU MBA program.
• No age bar required.
• Direct admission without any entrance exams.

International Applicants:

• Bachelor's degree from an AIU-recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
• A valid study visa, passport, or NRI status card.

Duration of IGNOU Distance MBA

The IGNOU MBA degree has a total duration of 24 months (2 years). It follows a semester-wise curriculum, consisting of four six-month semesters. Also, UGC allows students to extend the program duration to 4 years if they have backlogs or any other medical/personal, or unavoidable circumstances.

The cost of pursuing the IGNOU MBA program in India is ₹ 15,500 per semester (1st, 2nd, and 4th) and ₹ 17,500 (3rd). The mentioned course also comes with registration, examination, development, and project evaluation fees, expanding it to approximately ₹ 75,000/-.

IGNOU follows a simple admission process with two admission cycles: January & June for its distance courses. Applicants looking to pursue the respective management course need to follow these steps

Step 1: Registration:

• Visit the official IGNOU admission or SAMARTH portal
• Register using basic details
• Create/link APAAR & ABC ID
• Verify email and mobile number
• Create a user ID

Step 2: Admission Form:

• Log in using your user ID
• Choose your preferred program
• Fill in personal, academic, and other required details

Step 3: Upload Documents:

You need to upload the following documents:

• Aadhar, PAN
• 10th, 12th, and bachelor marksheet
• Scanned photos & signature
• Domicile, Caste, Income, & PwD for reserved categories

Step 4: Payment:

• Pay your semester 1 fee
• You can choose Netbanking, UPI, Credit/Debit Card, and Bank Transfer for IGNOU fee payment.

Step 5: Download ID Card:

Upon admission confirmation, you can download your student ID card using your login credentials in the Samarth portal.

Note: Students need to re-register annually to continue their respective courses.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers over 8 MBA specializations. The PG programs cover a total of 28 courses, further divided into 20 core, 7 specializations, and 1 project course.

IGNOU COE follows the patterns of continuous assessment evolution, term-end examinations, and project evaluation to measure the learning capabilities of MBA-ODL students. The patterns are as follows:

• Assessment: With a weightage of 30%, it consists of quizzes, case studies, and subjective questions. Students need to submit their subject-wise assessments to the program coordinator of their respective study center.
• Term-end Examination (TEE): It consists of MCQs, long-term, and short-term questions with a 70% weightage. Students must visit the pre-assigned physical exam centers for the TEE held in January and June every year.
