The eligibility criteria for IGNOU Online MCA are as follows:

Indian Students:

• B.Tech/B.E/ BCA/BSc from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
• BA/B.Com students with math as a compulsory subject at 10+2 or graduation level.
• BA/B.Com/B.Com with non CS/IT background must pass a bridge course in MCS-201 (Programming in C and Python) & MCS-208 (Data Structures and Algorithms) to continue their program.

International Students:

• 3-year recognized bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks with CS/IT/Math at HSC or graduation level.

IGNOU Online MCA Fee Details

The IGNOU COE offers one of the most affordable online MCA programs in India. The program for the respective online master's degree in computer applications is ₹12,700 per semester. Additionally, students also need to pay ₹2000 each for MCS-201 (Programming in C & Python) and MCS-208 (Data Structure & Algorithm).

On the same page, the program fee for internationals has different structures depending on their associated nations as follows:

• For SAARC Students: ₹ 19,000 per semester and an extra ₹ 2000 each for MCS-201 & MCS-208, respectively.
• For non-SAARC Students: $1,300 per semester, and $100 each for MCS-201 & MCS-208, respectively.

Note: IGNOU also charges exam fees (₹200 per subject) and development fees in addition to the tuition fee.

Duration of IGNOU Online MCA

The IGNOU MCA-OL has been structured with the latest semester-wise curriculum. The duration of this program is 24 months, scheduled with four semesters of six months each. Also, students can leverage a two-year extension window if they are unable to complete the program within the scheduled timeframe due to academic backlog, personal, or medical circumstances.

IGNOU-COE follows a simple admission process for its online MCA programs. Applicants looking to pursue the respective management course need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Registration:

Step 2: Admission Form:

• Log in using your user ID
• Choose the MCA-OL program
• Fill in personal, academic, and additional details

You need to upload the following documents:

• Aadhar & PAN
• 10th, 12th, and bachelor marksheet
• Scanned photos & signature
• Domicile, Caste, Income, & PwD for reserved categories

Step 3: Payment:

• Pay your annual program fee for the MCA-OL course
• Students can also pay semester-wise or the full program fee

Note: IGNOU provides two admission cycles: January & June for the MCA-OL program along with its distance courses.

With the latest NEP-2020 guidelines and the in-depth curriculum, the IGNOU MCA-OL offers an academic credit-based program. The online MCA programs have 22 courses, including a project with a total of 80 credits. • Continuous Assessment includes quizzes, viva, and projects, with a weightage of 30%. Students must pass the viva and the assessment with a minimum of 40 marks to proceed to TEE.
• IGNOU conducts term-end examinations (TEE) at the end of every semester twice in January and December. It includes lab projects, MCQs, and long-answer type questions with a weightage of 70%. Students appearing in the respective TEE must score a minimum of 40% marks to pass the corresponding subjects and proceed to the next semester.
