Examination Pattern of Nalanda Open University
The university has some general rules that every student must go through before admission:
- For the exams, you'll get your schedule with dates and locations when you sign up. It'll be printed on your Examination Admit Card.
- For any kind of help while you're studying, just write to the Registrar (Examination) at Nalanda Open University, Badgaon, Nalanda - 803111 (BIHAR).
- Also, NOU doesn't offer any improvement exams. So, do your best the first time around!
- Any disputes about admission or grades will be handled in the Patna courts.
Exam Pattern:
Each course consists of theory and/or theory and practical papers. Each theory paper shall consist of two parts:
- Written examination with 80 marks
- Assignments with 20 marks
Evaluation Format:
- The written part of each theory exam will last 3 hours.
- You need to turn in three assignments for each paper. The university will grade your two best ones. But if you don't turn in three assignments, none of them will count.
- The university will hold practical classes at the study centers or another place that the University sets up.
- Each practical paper is worth 100 marks (80 for the practical part and 20 for theory).
- For the MA in Psychology, the practical exam is six hours long. All other practical exams are three hours long.
- Questions for CFN/Agriculture courses and those funded by UNICEF will be in Hindi. For PGDFM, PGDMM, PGJMC, BCA, MCA, and CIC, they'll only be in English.
- For other courses, questions will be in both English and Hindi, and you can answer in either language.
