The Online Master of Business Administration (MBAOL) by IGNOU is the most popular PG program. It is tailored for working professionals and graduates looking to acquire a core knowledge of marketing and business management. This program is delivered in a fully online mode, allowing learners to utilize the course from anywhere at their own learning pace.

UGC-DEB & AICTE have accredited the IGNOU online MBA, making the degree program equivalent to distance and on-campus courses. This online program is ideal for both Indian and International students seeking an affordable course to gain knowledge and start their career in the respective domains.

The duration of MBA-OL is 24 months, with a semester-wise curriculum. This program follows the latest NEP curriculum and provides in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of human resources, organizational processes, management studies, managerial accounting, and communication skills. The course can be accessed from anywhere, using the IGNOU advanced LMS with round-the-clock access to video lectures, audio, e-books, and weekly classes.

The eligibility criteria for IGNOU Online MBA are as follows:

Indian Students:

• Bachelor's degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 3 years duration.
• Passing marks is 50% (45% for reserved categories)
• No age requirement

International Students:

• 3-year recognized bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

IGNOU follows a simple admission process for its online MBA programs. The university follows two admission cycles: January & June for the MBA-OL program along with its distance courses. Applicants looking to pursue the respective management course need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Registration:

• Register using basic details, Aadhar mobile number, and email
• Create/link APAAR & ABC ID
• Verify email and mobile number
• Create a user ID for further processing.

Step 2: Admission Form:

• Log in using your user ID
• Choose your preferred program
• Fill in personal, academic, and other required details

Step 3: Upload Documents:

You need to upload the following documents:

• Identity proof: Aadhar, PAN
• Academic: 10th, 12th, and bachelor marksheet
• Scanned photos & signature
• Domicile, Caste, Income, & PwD for reserved categories

Step 4: Payment:

• Pay your annual program fee
• You can choose Netbanking, UPI, Credit/Debit Card, and Bank Transfer for fee payments.

Step 5: Download ID Card:

Upon admission confirmation, you can download your student ID card using your login credentials in the Samarth portal.

Note: Students need to re-register annually to continue their respective courses.

The Online IGNOU MBA (MBA-OL) curriculum is based on the latest NEP-2020 guidelines with a vision to increase national GER. This course covers core concepts of human resources, managerial accounting, business organization, management functions, and operational processes. It also focuses on providing a practical learning experience through projects, continuous assessment, and masterclasses in collaboration with leading organizations.

Students can avail multiple scholarship benefits for their online IGNOU MBA (MBA-OL) through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). IGNOU offers a discount of up to 15% for students who choose e-books instead of physical books for their postgraduate program in business management.

IGNOU also offers exclusive scholarships and fee exemptions to meritorious students, economically backward applicants, ST/SC, OBC, women, army personnel, and Jain inmates. Additionally, the Open University also provides financial support for research, projects, and startups.

IGNOU COE follows the patterns of continuous assessment evolution, term-end examinations, and project evaluation to measure the learning capabilities of MBA-OL students. The patterns are as follows: Assessment: Continuous evolution through quizzes, case studies, and subjective questions with a weightage of 30%. Students need to submit their subject-wise assessments to the online centers or the program coordinator of their respective study center.

1. Term-end Examination (TEE): The TEE exams for the online MBA program are conducted twice in June and December of every year, depending on the academic cycle. With a 70% weihtage, it consists of MCs and subjective questions.

Students need to appear in the proctored CBT exams at their designated exam centers for TEE exams. Additionally, they can also choose subjects to appear in TEE exam cycles as per their convenience.

• Project Evaluation: Students must submit their major projects chosen from the numerous options provided by IGNOU, based on their preference. Upon approval from the respective program mentors, students must secure at least a C grade in their project for successful completion of their course.
