Bharathiar University Distance Education offers a range of degree, diploma, and certificate courses. All of these programs are UGC-DEB-approved, thus, makes you eligible for all the industry roles available in private and government sectors.

Before giving you the details of the online admission process, you must know that the university also offers a provision for Spot admission at the SDE of BU. In this option, ID cards and Books are issued on the spot, but certificates, etc., are issued online.

Here is the complete admission process for the Bharathiar University SDE.

Step 1: The very first step of your admission process starts by creating a DEB Unique ID. For this, you need to create an ABC ID.

Step 2: After this, match with the eligibility criteria of your chosen program from the list of courses available at the CDOE website.

Step 3: Visit the official SDE/CDOE portal and create a student account using your email and mobile number.

Step 4: Select your course and start entering your academic, personal, and contact details in the online application form

Step 5: Submit scanned copies of the following original documents clearly as a PDF file (each file size: 1 mb maximum):

• Scan Aadhaar, SSLC mark sheet, and HSC mark sheet to apply for U.G.
• Scan Aadhaar, SSLC mark sheet, HSC mark sheet, and U.G. Degree/Provisional Certificate to apply for P.G.
• Recent passport-size photo as a JPG file within the size of 20 – 50 KB
• Signature as a JPG file within the size of 15 – 25 KB

If you have completed your UG in more than one attempt & passed later, you need to scan all mark sheets of SSLC as a single PDF file.

Step 6: Complete the course fee payment online via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

The Course Fee should be paid within a week, or your application will be rejected automatically by the university without any intimation.

Step 7: Review all your details in the application form before submitting it. You will receive an application number for tracking its status.

Step 8: After the university verifies your documents, it will confirm your admission via email/SMS.

Note: For the Academic Session February 2026 (ODL), you will not be eligible if you have taken the UG exam after Nov 03, 2025, or after Jan 28, 2026.
