The UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2026 registration process started on April 29, 2026. Applicants can register themselves by visiting the website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The applicants are expected to apply before the deadline of May 20, 2026.

This exam will be conducted in the computer-based test (CBT) mode. The board announced a new paper, Statistics, as an option in the exams for students.

How to Apply for UGC NET June 2026 Exams

Candidates must pay the one-time non-refundable fee to complete registration with the last date on May 20, 2026. There are application fee concessions for the reserved category of applicants. 

The candidates are required to pay the application fee online on the NTA website for the UGC NET June 2026 exams as per their category.

Applicants need to follow these simple steps for the UGC NET June 2026 exam registrations:

  • Visit the ugc.net.nic or nta.ac.in website.
  • Now select the 'New Registration' link in the next step and enter all your basic details.
  • Fill in all the personal and academic details and your preferred exam center.
  • Upload the scanned copies of all your Aadhar and academic documents.
  • Pay the application fee amount using debit/credit card, UPI, or netbanking.
  • Hit the 'Submit' button and save the confirmation page for your own reference.
