The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the provisional answer key for the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2026) session 2 on April 11, 2026.
Those who appeared for the exam between April 2 and April 8, 2026, can now access the answer key through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The question papers for this session were released by NTA on April 9.
Candidates can raise any objection to the answer key freely through the official website. After the objection window closes, NTA will release the final result, which is expected to be on or around April 20.
Approx. 11.23 lakh candidates have appeared for the JEE Main 2026 April session exam. It was held at around 566 centres across 304 cities in India and 14 cities overseas. For the Paper 1 or the BE/BTech paper, the attendance was approximately 93%, and the Aadhaar authentication was recorded at nearly 97%, while about 11.06 lakh candidates registered from India and 4,229 from abroad.

How to Challenge the Answer Key
The NTA has opened the challenge window from 11 April 2026 to 13 April 2026 (up to 11:50 PM) for Paper 1 (B.E/ B. Tech.). Here are the steps that you can follow to challenge any of the answers in the provisional answer key.
Step 1: Visit the website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.
Step 2: Click 'Challenge (s) regarding Answer Key'.
Step 3: Log in with your Application Number and Password, enter the Captcha Code as displayed, and Submit.
Step 4: You will see the Question IDs for JEE (Main) - 2026 Session 2 (April 2026).
Step 5: The ID next to the question under the column 'Correct Option' stands for the most appropriate Answer Key by NTA.
Step 6: If you wish to challenge this option, you may use any one or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box.
Step 7: You may upload supporting documents for which you can select 'Choose File and Upload' (all documents to be put in a single PDF file).
Step 8: After clicking your desired option, for Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), scroll down and 'Save your claim' and move on to the next screen.
Step 9: You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
Step 10: Click on 'Save your claim and Pay Fee finally'.
Step 11: Select the Mode of Payment and pay a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200/- for each question challenged. Make payment through Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking.
